New Zealand: Contact Commits to Drill Four Geothermal Appraisal Wells at Tauhara

Contact Energy's earnings rise 12 per cent (News Release)

Contact Energy said full-year operating earnings from continuing operations rose 12 per cent, boosted by a strong performance from the firm's generation and wholesale business.

Among the highlights are a commitment to drill four geothermal appraisal wells at Tauhara in anticipation of a final investment decision to develop a new renewable power station.

“New Zealand is undergoing a transformation from reliance on fossil fuels to renewable electricity. Contact is well placed to meet the expected growth in electricity demand which will result in meaningful reductions to the nation’s carbon emissions by developing our large-scale consented geothermal development options backed by our world-class geothermal capability and strong balance sheet”, said Chief executive Dennis Barnes.

“After successfully lowering the cost of geothermal since our last build, we are taking the next step towards developing the geothermal power station project we have consented at Tauhara by committing to drill a series of four appraisal wells.

We remain focussed on delivering on our transformation programme to reduce controllable costs, and seek opportunities to capture value from scale efficiencies through brownfield geothermal development and by leveraging our customer systems and lean operating model to improve returns”, Mr Barnes said.

The contest serves to showcase the talent of the geothermal community as well as the beauty and intrigue found in every aspect of the geothermal industry.

Netherlands: Opportunity to Research the Deep Geothermal Resources of the Westland Triassic Sandstones

PhD Position in Geothermal Energy Research (Delft University of Technology)

Location: Delft University of Technology, Faculty Civil Engineering and Geosciences, Netherlands
Salary: 2325 - 2972 euros monthly (full-time basis)


The objective of this project is to quantify the reservoir properties of Triassic sandstones in Southern Netherlands at depths beyond 1500m in order to assess uncertainty and reduce the risks for future deep geothermal operations. Many Westland geothermal projects at depths between 1500 and 2500m are successful. However, the Triassic reservoirs are geologically much older and therefore have a higher chance of complicating histories. The TRIAS Westland core (NLW-GT-01) analyses show that Triassic sandstone diagenesis is hampering water flow by a reduced permeability in layers at 4200m depth. It shows that to successfully predict heat production there is insufficient knowledge of these sediments, their mineralogy, local structural characteristics, spatial heterogeneity and diagenesis. We propose an innovative integrated sedimentary, structural and diagenetic study to assess, quantify and map their suitability for deep geothermal exploitation in the southern Netherlands. This work should substantiate if and where new deep geothermal projects in the Dutch Roer Valley Graben will be economically feasible.

While the heat “from above” is a challenge, the heat “from below” can be an opportunity, as long as it provides energy, power for making changes.

What causes the concentration of heat in the middle of Europe? Very simply: a Europe-Africa love story, a dance of two fragments of the two continents in the Carpathian embayment. The two dancers are the Alcapa and the Tisza Megaunits and the leading partner is the former one. Let see them in a bit more professional way.

And what is the lovers’ heritage for us? Relatively thin Earth’s crust (~25 km), anomalously high terrestrial heat flow (~0.09 W/m2), high geothermal gradient (~0.05°C/m) and hundreds of geothermal wells and baths. It is cool (or warm…), isn’t it?

Science & Technology: Identifying the Presence of Geothermal Resources Based on Surface Characteristics Using Machine Learning

Applying machine learning to geothermal exploration (Colorado School of Mines)

Sebnem Duzgun, professor and Fred Banfield Distinguished Endowed Chair of Mining Engineering at Colorado School of Mines, has been awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to apply new machine learning techniques to geothermal exploration.

Duzgun will receive $500,000 over 18 months for her project, which was one of 10 nationwide recently selected for DOE funding

Specifically, Duzgun and her team plan to use machine learning techniques to analyze remote-sensing hyperspectral images, with the goal of developing a way to identify the presence of geothermal resources based on surface characteristics.
To do that, the researchers will develop a new methodology to automatically label data from hyperspectral images using existing geological, geophysical and drill hole data and use this data in developing convolutional neural networks (CNN) as deep learning models (DLM) that can predict the presence of geothermal resources based on surface characteristics with high accuracy.

USA, Hawaii: Puna Geothermal Power Plant Refurbishment Should be Completed by End of Year - Ormat CEO

Ormat Technologies, Inc. (ORA) CEO Isaac Angel on Q2 2019 Results - Earnings Call Transcript (Seeking Alpha)

CEO Isaac Angel: We continue to make good progress in our efforts to resume operations at Puna. We expect that our power plant refurbishment activities including the work on the substation will be completed on schedule by the end of the year.

Our plants will resume operations as soon as local permitting and transmission network upgrades being undertaken by our local utility partner are completed by early 2020. On the field side during work to renew the plugs from our geothermal wells, we found that two of the production wells were damaged and we will have to repair or re-drill them.

In addition, we continue to work on the other wells. We believe that once we resume operation, capacity would gradually increase as we continue to complete necessary well repairs and trailing. As a vertically integrated company, we have the unique advantage of controlling the entire value chain of geothermal development, this will help us to bring Puna online.

Asia: Region has Vast Geothermal Energy Potential

Are Asia's geothermal power targets too low? (Asian Power)

Despite efforts to ease policies, geothermal leader Indonesia only uses up 2GW of its 29GW potential capacity.

Indonesia has been slowly but surely ramping up its geothermal power generation capabilities, especially in 2018. “With the third and final unit of the ADB-financed Sarulla geothermal power project, with a capacity of 320 MW, coming online, Indonesia now has the world’s second largest installed geothermal power generation capacity after the US,” Yuichiro Yoi, principal investment specialist at Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s private sector operations department, told Asian Power.

As well, Yoi observed that one potentially interesting area is the development and proliferation of geothermal exploration insurance products to de-bottle-neck exploration efforts. “There seems to have been a few cases where such insurance was provided by insurance companies. If they can build a critical mass of portfolio to create diversification effects, and thereby bring down the still-very-expensive insurance premium, that could potentially boost the geothermal sector,” he said.

Polaris Infrastructure Inc., a Toronto-based company engaged in the operation, acquisition and development of renewable energy projects in Latin America, is pleased to report its financial and operating results for the quarter ended June 30, 2019.

Highlights include Continued Strong Power Generation: The San Jacinto project generated 129 GWh (net) (an average of 59.0 MW (net)), resulting in revenue of $17.3 million for the three months ended June 30, 2019, versus revenue of $17.7 million on generation of 139 GWh (net) (an average of 63.7 MW (net)) in the prior year period. The 2% revenue decrease was mainly due to the maintenance shutdown at San Jacinto in April 2019. The maintenance shutdown in 2018 was in March 2018 and accordingly the second quarter of 2019 is not directly comparable with the second quarter of 2018.

Furthermore, on a year over year basis for six months ending June 30, 2019 the San Jacinto project generated 268 GWh (net) (an average of 61.6 MW (net)), versus generation of 256 GWh (net) (an average of 58.6 MW (net)) in the prior year six month period, again normalizing for maintenance periods that did not coincide year over year.

Japan: Construction of 6.5 MW Hokkaido Geothermal Power Plant to Begin

ORIX to Begin Construction of 6.5 MW Geothermal Power Plant in Hokkaido (News Release)

ORIX Corporation announced today that it will begin construction of the Minami-Kayabe Geothermal Power Plant (name to be confirmed) in the Minami-Kayabe region of Hakodate City, Hokkaido. The power plant will have a generation capacity of 6,500 kW (6.5 MW), and will be the largest binary cycle geothermal power plant in Japan.

ORIX was selected to receive subsidies for geothermal power generation in the Minami-Kayabe region from Japan Oil, Gas, and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC), thanks to the cooperation of local parties; since 2014, ORIX has carried out surveys into geothermal resources and into the possible impact on hot springs and the environment. Now, the company is set to begin construction of a geothermal power plant on municipal land, with the goal of completing construction and commencing commercial operations in early spring, 2022.

The Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) would like to remind the community of events at the world’s largest annual geothermal energy conference in Palm Springs, California, USA.

In addition to the main event of the GRC Annual Meeting & Expo taking place September 15-18, 2019, there will be two workshops before and a special presentation open to the general public during the conference.

On Friday and Saturday, September 13  and 14 a New Frontiers in EGS Technology workshop will consider how development of cost-effective Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) technology is critical to the long-term viability of the world-wide geothermal industry.

Another workshop on Supercritical and Superhot Geothermal Resources will present information on how such systems could yield an order of magnitude more power than that currently produced from typical hot geothermal wells.

A special Geothermal 101 presentation will be held on Wednesday, September 18 where the general public will be invited to learn about and view the practical applications of geothermal energy technology in a guided tour of the Expo hall.

USA, Nevada: Ormat On Track to Add Approximately 120 MW to 135 MW Geothermal Capacity by the end of 2021

Ormat Technologies Reports Second Quarter 2019 Financial Results (News Release)

Ormat Technologies, Inc. today announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019.

“Ormat delivered in the second quarter a 5.6% growth in electricity segment revenue and a 5.7% increase in generation without any contribution from our Puna power plant in Hawaii that is temporarily shut down following the Kilauea volcano eruption last year,” commented Isaac Angel, Chief Executive Officer.

“We continue to make good progress in our efforts to resume operations at Puna. We expect that our plant refurbishment activities will be completed on schedule by the end of 2019 and expect that the plant will resume operations as soon as the local permitting and transmission network upgrades being undertaken by our local utility partner are completed by early 2020.

We expect continued growth in the electricity segment in the second half of 2019, as our 7 MW Tungsten Solar expansion is now online. We remain on track with our near-term growth target and plan to add approximately 120 MW to 135 MW to our portfolio by the end of 2021.

We are also optimistic about the longer-term outlook for growth at Ormat resulting from the continuing expansion of our international geothermal portfolio, as indicated most recently by the expansion of our operations in Indonesia, where we recently acquired 49% of the Ijen project.

USA: Ensuring tax parity for geothermal energy would help meet the country’s overall energy demand - EESI

Top Priority Policy Planks for a Green New Deal (Environmental and Energy Study Institute)

The Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) is a non-profit organization located in Washington DC whose mission is “to accelerate the transition to a new, low-emissions economy based on energy efficiency and renewable energy.” The organization works towards these goals through their briefings on Capitol Hill (as well as webcasts, papers, and more) to educate policymakers and other stakeholders on important energy and environment issues, coalition-building among diverse stakeholders, direct policy development assistance, and technical assistance.

Solar Tribune approached EESI to ask us what the most important and critical policy planks for the Green New Deal– or any other comprehensive climate change and clean energy legislative package– would be.

Renewable Energy Parity: To transition the United States to renewable energy, wind and solar will need to be complemented by geothermal energy, hydropower, and biomass energy. This can be incentivized by modifying the current tax credit structure that currently favors solar (Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC)) and wind power (Renewable Electricity Production Tax Credit).

Despite unequal access to tax incentives, geothermal, hydropower, and biomass are valuable energy sources because they provide baseload power and are located in geographically diverse areas, allowing a greater number of communities to take advantage of their natural assets. Ensuring tax parity for these energy sources would increase private investment to develop and deploy these technologies, providing more renewable options to meet the country’s overall energy demand.

Fossil fuel subsidies should also be eliminated to make renewable energy technologies more competitive and the remove perverse incentives.

Canada: Drilling Begins at Closed Loop Geothermal Power System Demonstration Project

USA: "The Enhancing Geothermal Production on Federal Lands Act will streamline the federal permitting process, unleashing the nation’s geothermal potential”

Senator Risch and Congressman Fulcher Introduce Bill (News Release)

U.S. Sen. Jim Risch (R-Idaho) and Congressman Russ Fulcher (R-Idaho) introduced S. 2270 the Enhancing Geothermal Production on Federal Lands Act, a bill to streamline the discovery and permitting process for geothermal energy projects. This bill will bring geothermal to parity with oil and gas exploration on public lands. 

With 90 percent of viable geothermal resources located on federally managed lands, almost all geothermal projects are subject to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process. Currently, most geothermal exploration wells require an Environmental Assessment (EA) to be filed before exploration begins. This EA process for geothermal projects averages 10 months, meaning interested parties must wait nearly a year to determine if a viable geothermal resource even exists.

“The Enhancing Geothermal Production on Federal Lands Act will streamline the federal permitting process, unleashing the nation’s geothermal potential,” said Paul Thomsen, Vice President, Ormat Technologies & Chairman, Geothermal Resource Council Policy Committee. “This bill will allow Idaho to continue as a leader in geothermal production and further develop its indigenous renewable resources.”

USA: NREL Updates Baseline Cost and Performance Data for Geothermal Technologies

Baseline Cost and Performance Data for Electricity Generation Technologies Updated (NREL)


The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has released a 2019 update to the Annual Technology Baseline (ATB), a key source of reliable electricity generation technology cost and performance data used to support and inform electric sector analysis in the United States. Now in its fifth year, the ATB documents technology-specific information on a broad spectrum of electricity-generation technologies—including wind, solar, geothermal, hydropower, biopower, coal, natural gas, and nuclear—as well as battery energy storage.

Geothermal technology cost and performance projections have been updated with analysis and results from the GeoVision: Harnessing the Heat Beneath our Feet report (DOE, 2019). The GeoVision report is a collaborative multiyear effort with contributors from industry, academia, national laboratories, and federal agencies. The analysis in the report updates resource potential estimates as well as current and projected capital and O&M costs based on rigorous, bottom-up modeling.

Philippines: MakBan Geothermal Power Plant Supplies 17 MW to Nestlé Facilities

Nestlé taps Aboitiz Power to supply clean energy in Lipa (Manila Standard)

Nestlé Philippines Inc., a leading food company, has tapped Aboitiz Power Corp. to supply clean energy to its manufacturing facility in Lipa, Batangas province.

Aboitiz Power is also delivering clean energy to two other Nestlé factories in Cabuyao, Laguna and Tanauan, Batangas, as well as its corporate administrative office in Makati City.

Aboitiz Power informed the Philippine Stock Exchange that the 17-megawatt aggregated energy demand of the Nestlé facilities is supplied by the MakBan geothermal power plant in the provinces of Laguna and Batangas.

Finance: "Geothermal electricity generation increased by an estimated 6% in 2018, much more than the average growth of the five previous years" - IEA

IEA Tracking Clean Energy Progress (IEA)

Geothermal still not on track to reach the Sustainable Development Scenario level
Global public investment in low-carbon energy technology research and development (R&D) grew again in 2018, by 5%, to $23 billion. As a share of GDP, public energy R&D funding of the major economies is not growing, yet more innovation in clean energy technologies is needed. Corporate low-carbon energy R&D spending also grew by 5% in 2018. Meanwhile, clean energy VC investment reached its highest ever level at nearly $7 billion, led by a sharp rise in investment in early-stage clean transport companies.

The International Energy Agency (IEA)’s latest and most comprehensive assessment of clean energy transitions shows that only 7 out of 45 technologies and sectors are on track with the IEA’s Sustainable Development Scenario (SDS): solar photovoltaics (PV), bioenergy for power, energy storage, electric vehicles (EVs), rail, lighting  and data centres. Of the others, 22 need improvement and 16 are off track - including geothermal.

Geothermal electricity generation increased by an estimated 6% in 2018, much more than the average growth of the five previous years. Nevertheless, the technology is still not on track to reach the SDS level, which would require a 10% annual increase in generation over 2018‑30. Policies tackling challenges associated with pre-development risks are needed to increase the deployment of geothermal for power.

Ormat Technologies Inc. announced today that it commenced commercial operation of the company’s first-ever geothermal and solar hybrid project, a 7MW AC solar expansion of its Tungsten Mountain geothermal project in Churchill County, Nevada. The Tungsten Solar expansion commenced commercial operation in July 2019.

The electricity generated from the Tungsten Solar power plant will be used to offset the equipment’s energy use at the Tungsten geothermal facility, thus increasing the renewable energy delivered by the project under the Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA) portfolio contract.

SCPPA and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) had the vision to enable this development through their innovative portfolio contract, which sought to maximize the output of their renewable facilities, furthering the transition away from coal power while maintaining a reliable power supply for Los Angeles.

The Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) is pleased to announce a new poster aimed at helping educate middle-schoolers on geothermal energy and help spread the word of the industry’s technologies and mission to the general public.

The poster is glossy, doubled sided with English and Spanish versions and measures 22 inches x 34 inches, making it ideal for display in a classroom or other educational facility.

The GRC would like to thank the Dewhurst Group for their help in designing the poster and to the following sponsors for their support: Horizon Well Logging; Ormat Technologies; Cyrq Energy; Coso Operating Company; EGS, Inc., and the Dewhurst Group.

10,000 copies of the poster will be sent in school educational packs distributed by the American Geosciences Institute (AGI), as part of the Earth Science Week Toolkit, with the main priority to support high-quality teaching and learning in Earth science.

Earth Science Week is an important annual outreach by the U.S. geoscience community. “Aligned with efforts to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in the geosciences, this year’s theme of “Geoscience Is for Everyone” [provides] materials that emphasize the importance of the geosciences in the lives of all people.”

A further 5,000 printed copies of the Geothermal Poster will be available for distribution directly by the GRC and, for instance, will be freely available at this year’s Annual Meeting & Expo in Palm Springs, California from 15-18 September. USA, Nevada: Biggest Ever BLM Geothermal Lease Sale in Silver State

Energynet.com will have the sale running live at booth #403 at the GRC Annual Meeting & Expo.



In accordance with the Geothermal Steam Act, and the BLM regulations at 43 CFR 3200, The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is holding a competitive geothermal lease sale on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019. The agency will offer 142 parcels for lease totaling 387,032.47 acres in Churchill, Eureka, Elko, Esmeralda, Humboldt, Lander, Mineral, Nye, Pershing, Washoe, and White Pine counties Nevada. This will be the most acres offered in a geothermal lease sale by the BLM in Nevada to date.

The sale date is Tuesday, September 17, 2019. The open bidding period will begin at 11:30 a.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT) (or 9:30 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

The winners will be announced at the GRC Annual Meeting in Palm Springs, California, USA.

The Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) would like to remind entrants of the impending deadline for the 40th Amateur Geothermal Photo Contest. The deadline is midnight tonight! The purpose of the contest is to showcase quality photography featuring geothermal energy around the world.

The winners will be announced at the GRC Annual Meeting & Expo being held in Palm Springs, California, USA from September 15-18.

The first place winner will receive $150, second place - $100, and third place - $75. Honorable Mention photos will receive certificates.

Photographs on any subject related to geothermal energy including geothermal energy production, EGS, direct use and geothermal heat pumps can be submitted. This includes photos in the areas of exploration, drilling, well testing, research and development, power plant construction, operation, and maintenance, geological features or geothermal manifestations.

For the 2019 photo contest, GRC is helping to raise awareness of the community benefits of geothermal energy through providing honorable mention awards for photos that help demonstrate two specific categories: Diversity - Celebrating inclusivity in the geothermal industry and Community - Providing positive interaction and impact on communities.

China: Sinopec Plans to Triple Geothermal Heating Capacity

Energy pair add green plans to their palette (Upstream)

China’s leading energy companies PetroChina and Sinopec have launched green energy plans and initiatives to lower carbon dioxide emissions that complement their traditional focus on onshore and downstream project development, writes Xu Yihe.

While PetroChina is keen on offshore wind, Sinopec is pushing geothermal energy development, with plans to triple its geothermal heating capacity to 120 million to 150 million square metres by 2023, big enough to provide geothermal heating to about 2.1 million urban residents.

The initiative will enable Sinopec to replace coal with geothermal energy in 20 cities. The company has already retrofitted the facilities in 10 Chinese cities to accommodate a shift to geothermal energy.

Sinopec currently owns and operates geothermal projects capable of providing residential heating totalling some 50 million square metres, or about 30% of the space currently heated with geothermal energy.

Asian Development Bank is supporting Sinopec’s geothermal efforts with $250 million in funding. The company has also aligned with Arctic Green Energy in Iceland to pursue geothermal projects and research work.

China: Four-Day Geothermal Conference in Beijing Begins Next Week

The 2019 American Rock Mechanics Association  (ARMA) - China University of Petroleum–Beijing (CUPB) Geothermal International Conference will be held  5-9 August 2019 in Beijing, China. Hosted by CUPB, the conference will promote technology sharing between petroleum and geothermal industries. More details can be found at http://www.arma-cupb.com.

From hydrothermal enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) to the oil and gas industry, the meeting will combine short course, technology highlights, industry perspectives, and field trip. Below is the program outline.

Germany: Geo-Drill Project in-situ test site at the International Geothermal Centre

Geo-Drill: Testing In Realistic Environments (News Release)

Geo-Drill aims to enhance the growth of geothermal energy by enabling exploitation of deep geothermal resources through development of novel drilling technologies.

Geo-Drill prototypes will be subjected to full scale testing by drilling multiple holes with partner GZB's drill rig at their drill site in Bochum - i.BOGS (in-situ Borehole and Geofluid Simulator) and full testing with industrial drill rig at GZB.

The in-situ test site at the International Geothermal Centre (GZB) is located on the campus of the Bochum University of Applied Sciences. The area represents a 10,000 m² drill site with existing research, observation and production wells and allows further drill tests and drilling down to depths of 5,000 m – also in conjunction with the approved authorized 50 km² mining area "Future Energies" and the GZB's own mobile dual drive drilling rig Bo.Rex capable of drilling up to depths of 1000 m. The site allows validation of the whole Geo-Drill system, including drill monitor in terms of rate of penetration (ROP), cuttings transport performance (CTP) and drilling fluid consumption.

Kenya’s renewable energy infrastructure requires huge and complex financing structures that put Joan Chahenza’s knack for negotiating and developing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to the test.

Describing herself as a renewable energy finance professional, she has contributed to structuring and tariff setting for projects totalling over $1 billion.

Being KenGen’s Chief Financial Analyst & Technical Assistant to the Corporate & Regulatory Services Director holds immense responsibility. We caught up with Joan who has her finger on the pulse of the best financial models for different generation technologies.

Joan, tell us about a project that you are particularly proud of having worked on.

The project that stands out for me is the 158MW Olkaria V Geothermal Project. Being part of the negotiating team that delivered the PPA was such a privilege. This plant is a substantial resource located in the Kenya Rift valley, about 120km from Nairobi. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) are financing the project and construction commenced in January 2017 with the commissioning date set for late Q3 2019.

Adapun tiga WPSPE yang akan ditawakan pada tahun ini terdiri dari Pentadio di Gorontalo dengan sumber daya sekitar 25 MW, Sipaholon Ria-Ria di Sumatera Utara 60 MW, dan Lokop di Aceh 41 MW.

Kenya: Olkaria V Unit 1 Geothermal Power Plant Synchronized to National Grid

KenGen’s Olkaria V Unit 1 Goes Live, Performs Better than Expected (techweez)

Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has announced that their Phase 5 of the Olkaria project has been ‘synchronized’ to the national grid as per Friday 26th July. Apparently, Olkaria V unit 1 was able to reach a full load of 86.6MW which fortunately was above its rate capacity of 82.7MW.

KenGen is now working on Olkaria V Unit 2 with a similar rated capacity as the unit 1 which combined is expected to generate a total of 165.4MW. Previously, the geothermal energy contribution to the national grid was 533MW and when Olkaria V is complete, that will rise to 698MW. Olkaria V Unit 2 is undergoing pre-commissioning tests in preparation for steam admission according to the company.

United Kingdom: Geothermal Data from Geoenergy Observatories to be Made Available

UK scientists pave the way for open data to be at the heart of public decision making on natural resources ( UK Geoenergy Observatories)

Geoscientists have launched an open data source from a world-first network of observatories investigating the underground, designed to put scientific evidence into the heart of decision making on the natural environment.

The British Geological Survey (BGS), the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and researchers from 20 leading earth science institutes joined forces in 2015 to develop plans for a world-first observatory that would provide unprecedented data, information and knowledge on the rocks beneath our feet.

The UK Geoenergy Observatories will serve up one of the world’s most comprehensive datasets on the underground environment, and this is being made open to industry, business, government, regulators and campaign groups in real time wherever possible.
