The Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) would like to remind entrants of the impending deadline for the 40th Amateur Geothermal Photo Contest. The deadline is midnight tonight! The purpose of the contest is to showcase quality photography featuring geothermal energy around the world.
The winners will be announced at the GRC Annual Meeting & Expo being held in Palm Springs, California, USA from September 15-18.
The first place winner will receive $150, second place - $100, and third place - $75. Honorable Mention photos will receive certificates.
Photographs on any subject related to geothermal energy including geothermal energy production, EGS, direct use and geothermal heat pumps can be submitted. This includes photos in the areas of exploration, drilling, well testing, research and development, power plant construction, operation, and maintenance, geological features or geothermal manifestations.
For the 2019 photo contest, GRC is helping to raise awareness of the community benefits of geothermal energy through providing honorable mention awards for photos that help demonstrate two specific categories: Diversity - Celebrating inclusivity in the geothermal industry and Community - Providing positive interaction and impact on communities.
