USA, California: Ormat Signs 14 MW Geothermal Power PPAs With Community Choice Aggregators - Ormat Technologies, Inc. today announced the signing of two similar Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) and Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP).
Germany: Daldrup & Söhne AG Sells Taufkirchen and Landau Geothermal Power Plants - Drilling technology and geothermal energy specialist Daldrup & Söhne AG today signed a contract with IKAV Invest S.à.r.l., Luxembourg, for the sale of the remaining shares (48.944 %) in Geysir Europe GmbH. The agreement includes the sale of the Taufkirchen and Landau power plants.

Italy: Chinese Company Completes Acquisition of Italian Geothermal ORC Turbine Manufacturer - Following successful auction bid, China’s Nanjing TICA Thermal Technology Co. Ltd., has officially formalized the acquisition of Exergy from the Maccaferri Industrial Group.
USA, Nevada: More Electric Vehicles Will Boost Geothermal Energy Development in Silver State - Report - Converting the transportation sector increases load on Nevada’s electric system, accelerating new energy resource development — both solar and geothermal — to serve the State’s growing needs and also demand beyond its borders.

USA: American Council on Renewable Energy Recommends Climate Policy Approaches to Impact Renewable Energy Growth and Investment - Including a federal high-penetration renewable energy standard or clean energy standard, a technology-neutral tax credit, and carbon pricing regimes.
USA, California: Community Choice Aggregator Chooses Geothermal Over Other Renewables - Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP) provides two enrollment options. The first is MB Choice, which San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay residents were automatically enrolled in. For this plan, 66 percent of the energy is generated by hydroelectric sources and 34 percent by renewable energy sources, which includes 12 percent geothermal sources.

USA, California: Controlled Thermal Resources to Supply Imperial Irrigation District with 40 MW Geothermal Energy - The PPA consists of a 25-year term to supply IID with 40 megawatts of geothermal energy from the Hell’s Kitchen facility.
Science & Technology: New Model to Calculate Hydraulic Fracture Propagation - Acclaimed for its accuracy by experts, the model better predicts fracture geometry and the energy cost of hydraulic fracturing – a widely used technique in areas such as CO2 storage, hydrocarbon extraction, dams and volcano hazard monitoring.
USA, Texas: Funding Provided for Fort Bliss Geothermal District Heating Network - Fort Bliss, U.S. Army: (El Paso, Texas) Develop a geothermal resource by collecting geothermal site data and leveraging an earlier collaboration with DOE’s Geothermal Technologies Office that would implement a renewable, geothermal district heating system, increasing the resilience posture of the base and reducing reliance on exterior energy sources.
