India: Dholera ORC Geothermal Power Plant will Start Operating this Month - Two geothermal borewells were drilled at Dholera where the temperature of water was found to be 47-60 degrees celsius. The hot water of the well will be used for power generation using a technique termed as Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC).
Japan: Newly-Merged Company Plans More Investment in Geothermal Power - Leading Japanese oil wholesalers Idemitsu Kosan and Showa Shell Sekiyu merged their businesses on Monday, effectively reorganizing the country's industry into three major groups.

Global: Geothermal Energy Increased by 539 MW in 2018 - IRENA - Most of the expansion taking place in Turkey (+219 MW) and Indonesia (+137 MW), followed by the USA, Mexico and New Zealand. The total capacity at the end of 2018 is 13,329 MW.

USA, California: Breaking Ground at Hell’s Kitchen Lithium-Geothermal Project - Controlled Thermal Resources (CTR) reports that preliminary work has commenced on site in preparation for CTR’s Hell’s Kitchen Lithium-Geothermal Project in Imperial Valley, California.

Morocco: Portuguese Company to Study Areas of Geothermal Potential in the South - This project will comprehend hydrogeological, geochemical, geological and geophysical studies, with the goal to classify the different energy levels of the geothermal potential.
Europe: Information Delivery Manual for Geothermal Drilling Processes - New public deliverable: “Geothermal – IDM for Drilling Processes” (GEOFIT project).
Bolivia: Sacyr Industrial and Ormat Win Tender for Construction of 5.6 MW Sol de MaƱana Geothermal Pilot Plant - The project consists of a pilot binary cycle geothermal plant, which uses 132,000 kg/h of geothermal fluid at 170°C to generate 5.6 MW of electrical energy.

USA, California: CPUC Plan Proposes 2,900 MW Geothermal Energy by 2030 in Golden State - GRC Executive Director Represents the Geothermal Energy Community at the state Capitol.
Science & Technology: British Company to Lead Research in Developing Cost-Effective Drilling Technology for Geothermal Systems - Project Geo-Drill, funded by the European Commission H2020 programme, aims to develop “holistic” drilling technologies that have the potential to drastically reduce the cost of drilling to large depths and at high temperatures.
