USA, California: Public Utilities Commission Recognizes Geothermal Energy in New Recommended Portfolio - New calculations aim to add an additional 1,700 MW of geothermal capacity by 2030

USA, Nevada: Employment Opportunity as Staff Geologist at Ormat - The position is responsible for conducting geologic field evaluations of geothermal exploration projects and integrating them with existing published data to assist in the definition of new development projects.

Canada: Flow and Built up Test at Estevan Geothermal Power Project to Start in June- They’ve drilled their first well, and have now secured the mineral rights to the fluids from the area around it.

USA: Renewable Energy Surpasses Coal for First Time - This month, for the first time ever, the renewable energy sector (hydro, biomass, wind, solar and geothermal) is projected to generate more electricity than coal-fired plants, which totals about 240 gigawatts (GW) of still-operating capacity.

USA: DOE Announces Funding for Geothermal Exploration Machine Learning Projects- Machine learning – the use of advanced algorithms to identify patterns in and make inferences from data – could assist in finding and developing new geothermal resources.

Commonwealth of Dominica: More World Bank Funding for 7 MW Geothermal Power Plant Project - Dominica has signed an agreement with the World Bank for the financing of the Geothermal Development Project.

World Bank Report on Gender Equality in The Geothermal Energy Sector - Although geothermal energy is globally recognized as a clean and reliable source of heat and electric power its development can inadvertently lead to adverse outcomes that disproportionately disadvantage women.
