El Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), informó que ha rescatado más de 700 animales en el Proyecto Geotérmico Las Pailas II, en Liberia, Guanacaste, desde 2013 hasta la fecha.

Este campo geotérmico –donde está ubicado este Proyecto y la Planta Geotérmica Las Pailas I– colinda con el Parque Nacional Rincón de la Vieja, una zona natural de gran diversidad.
