Sold - Alterra Power has a 54% stake in the 54 MW (Net Installed Capacity) Reykjanes (1&2) geothermal power plant and a 54% stake in the 49 MW (Net Installed Capacity) Svartsengi geothermal power plant which includes a a 30% stake in the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa and Resort.
Climate Change: Record Level of Carbon Dioxide Measured Last Year - Last year's increase was 50% higher than the average of the past 10 years.
Australia: Swimming Pool Heated by Geothermal Opens in Perth - The geothermal water is used to heat the Lap pool to 27°C the Leisure pool to 32°C as well as the domestic water, used by the pool's kiosk, showers, toilets and tenancies.

Science & Technology: Patent Awarded for Methods for Thermalsiphoning Supercritical CO2 Within a Geothermal Formation - Thermosiphoning is maximized by maintaining a pressure between 1400-4000 psia, an injection temperature in a range from 50-200 C and a production temperature in a range from 150-600 where injection temperature and the production temperature differ by at least 50.degree. C.

Philippines: 600 GWh Achieved by 20 MW Maibarara Geothermal Power Plant - A milestone level of generation of 600 gigawatt hours (GWh) has been reached by the 20 MW Maibarara geothermal power facility, according to the PetroEnergy Resources Corporation, the major equity holder firm in the project’s corporate vehicle.

Indonesia: PLN to Sign PPA for 86 MW from Rantau Dedap Geothermal Power Plant - The second-largest plant located in Rantau Dedap, South Sumatra will use geothermal energy with a capacity of 86 MW.
Chile: Enel Wins 33 MW of New Geothermal Capacity in Tender - The energy awarded to Enel will be provided by a mix of new renewable projects comprising of 116 MWp of solar, 93 MW of wind and 33 MW of geothermal located in the Antofagasta region for a total capacity of 242 MW.
