Governor Gary Herbert and Mayor Jackie Biskupski to Address Utah Geothermal Energy Event
Two keynote speakers have been confirmed for the Opening Session of the geothermal energy event of the year in Salt Lake City.
Governor Gary Herbert and Mayor Jackie Biskupski will address attendees at the Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) Annual Meeting and Geothermal Energy Association (GEA) GeoExpo+ at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on Monday, October 2.
Governor Gary Richard Herbert took the oath of office on August 11, 2009.
Prior to becoming the state's chief executive, Governor Herbert served as lieutenant governor for five years. He is the past chair of the Western Governors Association and National Governors Association.
He also heads the annual Governor's Utah Energy Development Summit.
Mayor Jackie Biskupski was elected as Salt Lake City’s 35th mayor in 2015 and was sworn in on January 4th, 2016.
In July 2016, Mayor Biskupski launched Salt Lake City’s initiative to transition the community to 100% renewable energy sources by 2032 and to reduce carbon emissions citywide by 80% by 2040.
