City of Reno Touts its Geothermal Energy


The host city of the GRC Annual Meeting & GEA Geothermal Energy Expo is proud of its efforts to use more renewable energy. More-so, the "biggest little city in the world" is very aware of the geothermal energy resource in its back-yard.


Reno is the only sizeable U.S. city that produces enough geothermal energy to meet its entire residential load


Extracts from the resolution:
WHEREAS,  Nevada ranks first in geothermal resources with 567 megawatts in production or under development with the potential to produce up to 3,700 megawatts and Nevada is #1 in the nation for geothermal energy production per capita; generating over 110 watts per person; and
WHEREAS, Reno is the only sizeable U.S. city that produces enough geothermal energy to meet its entire residential load...............
