USA, California:

California Energy Industry Data Now Easier to Find Online (News Release)

Energy Commission Centrally Locates Statistics and Analysis

In an effort to make it easier for the public to find consolidated and more comprehensive data on California's energy use (supply and demand), the California Energy Commission recently made two changes to its web site and organizational structure.

The agency recently launched an "Analysis and Stats" tab on its home page to better present work being done by its division that collects data, assesses, and forecasts California's energy (electricity, natural gas, and transportation fuels) systems and trends. The data and analyses influence policies aimed at balancing the need for adequate resources with economic, public health, safety, and environmental goals. The Energy Commission also changed the name and scope of the division responsible for collecting and managing energy data from Electricity Supply Analysis Division to the Energy Assessments Division (EAD).
