U.S. – Turkey Geothermal Workshop

October 21 - 22, Ankara, Turkey



USTDA is sponsoring a two-day geothermal workshop in Ankara, Turkey on October 21-22, 2014 to connect U.S. and Turkish stakeholders to support the implementation of geothermal projects in Turkey. The workshop agenda will include presentations by Turkish geothermal project developers and investors, government stakeholders, financing organizations and U.S. geothermal companies. A formal one-on-one (B2B) session will be organized in addition to many networking opportunities. Topics will include updates on geothermal projects being developed by new and existing concession license holders, new government and regulatory initiatives, state-of-the-art U.S. technology, as well as best practices and financing structures that support project development.

This is an excellent opportunity for U.S. companies to meet with all of the key stakeholders in the Turkish geothermal industry and hear firsthand about the opportunities in this growing geothermal market. Attending U.S. companies may register to meet one on one with Turkish stakeholders and other speakers.

U.S. companies that offer the following equipment and services should participate:
  • Resource assessment (geology, geochemistry, geophysics, remote sensing, database management, GIS construction, maintenance and modeling; well log, flow test and tracer test interpretation; resource capacity estimation; well placement; exploration for new resources) 
  • Chemical services (fluid and rock chemical analyses; chemical suppliers; engineering for scale, non-condensable gas (NGC), and corrosion abatement: well treatment chemicals) 
  • Drilling services (drillers; mud suppliers; motors, pipe and drill bit suppliers; well design, well testing, well logging) 
  • Power plant design and equipment (Design engineers; equipment suppliers to include turbines, generators, heat exchangers, cooling units, pumps, surface piping, separators, computer-control systems; construction oversight; maintenance; operations training)
