The National Geothermal Academy presents a 10-day intensive Geoscience Course focused on geothermal geology, geochemistry, and geophysics taught by experts in the field. The course is open to students and professionals from around the world. The course will occur at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) in Reno, Nevada June 11-20, 2014.
The course is offered to students for 2 academic credits at either the undergraduate or graduate level. A non-credit option is offered to professionals. Classroom instruction will occur at UNR’s Redfield campus in south Reno. An afternoon at Steamboat Springs geothermal complex and a three-day field trip to Long Valley caldera are included with the course. This is an intensive course that runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM every day.
The NGA is intended for outstanding undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals. Strong academic preparation in quantitative fields is expected. This course is open to both domestic and international applicants.
