EDC Set to Fully Restore Leyte Plants by August (Manila Standard Today)

Geothermal energy producer Energy Development Corp. expects to fully restore the typhoon-damaged power plants in Leyte by August or earlier, a company official said over the weekend.

EDC president Richard Tantoco told reporters that with the extra 77.5 MWe recently commissioned, the Malitbog geothermal power plant is now producing 150 MWe.

Typhoon Yolanda left the entire 650 MWe capacity of the Leyte geothermal power plants inoperable due to the damage sustained.
