Geothermal Resources Council to Present Workshop in Java, Indonesia (PDF)

The GRC will host a two‐day course at the 2nd ITB Workshop 2013

The Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) is pleased to announce it will present a two‐day course at the 2nd ITB Workshop in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, on March 4‐5, 2013.

The course, Exploration Drilling and Early Stage Geothermal Characterization (PDF) will be taught by GRC members and leading lights of the geothermal industry:
  • Lou Capuano, Jr.: CEO Capuano Engineering
  • Paul Brophy: President EGS, Inc.
  • Paul von Hirtz: President Thermochem, Inc.
  • Subir Sanyal: GeothermEx, a Schlumberger Company
  • Steve Ponder: Interim Executive Director, Geothermal Resources Council
The GRC Workshop is the curtain raiser for the 2nd Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) Workshop, whose theme this year is “Broadening Participation and Initiatives across the Geothermal Education and Research Enterprises in Indonesia”. The ITB Workshop runs from March 4 through March 8 and includes workshop courses, plenary sessions, technical paper presentations, a geothermal field camp, field trip and exhibition.

Steve Ponder, interim Executive Director of the GRC said “my colleagues and I are looking forward to sharing the latest in geothermal exploration and drilling technology. Indonesia is at the forefront of development in the industry and the GRC is well placed to held educate the global community.”
