USA, Nevada:

California Operator Now Managing Grid in Much of Southern Nevada (Think GeoEnergy)

California’s largest electrical power grid is now managing the grid in much of southwestern Nevada as well.

California Independent System Operator (CalISO), which manages the electric power transmission grid for most of California, announced that Nevada Valley Electric Association has formally joined the CalISO as participating member.

"This transmission alliance will strengthen the energy market in the region, as it will advance renewable power and create efficiencies for electricity customers in California and Nevada”, said the CEO of CalISO.

While local news predominantly mention proposed solar projects in Nevada as likely benefiting by now being able to sell electricity into California, the same might apply to several geothermal projects in Nevada.
