Kamojang IV Geothermal Plant Commences Operation (Indonesia Today)

Indonesia Energy and mineral resources minister Jero Wacik has officially commenced the operation of fourth unit of Kamojang geothermal power plant in West Java Saturday (January 12).

The 30 MWe unit, is operated by PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy, subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina.

A fifth unit, also 30 MWe, is scheduled for commercial operation late next year. Kamojang Unit V is located 42-KM south of Bandung, capital city of West Java province.

Government expects the new geothermal plant would boost the country's renewable energy portion in energy mix, which is targeted to reach 25% by 2025.
