Andrés Ruzo (a GRC Member and inaugural winner of the GRC Scholarship) is a geothermal scientist, conservationist, educator, host, author, and science communicator best known for his work at the Boiling River of the Amazon. Whether it is working with governments, energy companies, students, or indigenous communities, his goal is to connect people to the natural world and help build bridges to an environmentally conscious future.

It’s imperative for students to understand what science can teach them, where it can take them, and how to understand current global issues, and how they can play a part in changing the future for our people and planet.
