1. Welcome- Presented by SoCal GRC Acting President Jon Trujillo
2. 2018 Hawaiian Volcanic Eruption & Geothermal Lava Overruns the Puna Geothermal Venture. Presented by Charlene Wardlow, Geothermal Program Manager and District Deputy for the Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources. Ms. Wardlow participated in the joint task force and was onsite while lava overran a portion of the wellfield and facility.
3. Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technologies to Geothermal Well Targeting and Drilling Operations. Presented by Zack Nolan and Luis Ruano of Beyond Limits. Beyond Limits is a pioneering AI company with roots from Caltech and NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL). Artificial Intelligence uses computer systems to perform advanced pattern recognition, self-learning and decision-making that previously only humans were capable of achieving. This technology is used in oil & gas to process large datasets for resource exploration and risk reduction during drilling operations. BP (British Petroleum) is an early investor of Beyond Limits.
