USA: Do You Know of Any Underutilized Wells in Known Geothermal Resource Areas in the United States? - Its aim is to obtain feedback on industry willingness to partner with DOE’s Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO) to test downhole tools, technologies, and methodologies that can improve the probability of successful geothermal commercialization. Responses to the RFI can be submitted electronically and must be received by October 25, 2019.

Canada: Hybrid Geothermal-Natural Gas Project Company Raises Funds - The gross proceeds from the sale of Flow-Through Shares will be used by the Company to incur qualifying “Canadian renewable and conservation expenses” (CRCE) as defined in the Income Tax Act (Canada) related to the Company’s geothermal power projects in Alberta.

USA: NREL Regional Energy Deployment System Predicts Almost 6,000 MW of Geothermal Energy Capacity in California by 2050 - ReEDS, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s flagship capacity planning model for the North American electricity system, simulates the evolution of the bulk power system—both generation and transmission—from present day through 2050.

Science & Technology: Jersey Company Secures Funding to Complete Testing of Innovative Geothermal Drilling Technology - Strada, a Jersey (a self-governing dependency of the United Kingdom) based geothermal project development company and an innovative technology company specialising in deep drilling, has today announced that it has secured new investment to complete the testing of its unique, patented, Fluid Hammer Operating System (FHOS).

United Kingdom: Cornish Lithium About to Begin Exploration Drilling - Cornish Lithium would also investigate the possibility of combining geothermal energy and lithium extraction.

Ecuador: Chachimbiro Geothermal Project to Install 5 MW Power Plant in 2022 - Since March 2018, tests have been carried out in the first exploratory well, with satisfactory results, since temperatures of 235ÂșC have been found that are ideal for installing a geothermal plant.

Science & Technology: Ultra-Low-Grade Geothermal Heat Engine Validated and Ready for the Market - Low-grade and ultra-low-grade heat (150-212 F), which up until now could only be discarded and wasted, can be cost-effectively utilized to generate electrical power, providing cost savings and improving bottom line performance for corporations globally.

USA: One Day Meeting in Washington DC Considers Oil & Gas Sharing Technologies With Geothermal - Tuesday, October 8, 2019, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM EDT, National Academies of Sciences, Washington, D.C.

USA, California: Improving The Permitting Process For Lithium Extraction From Geothermal Brine at The Salton Sea - Susanne Heim, Principal at Panorama Environmental and Graeme Donaldson, Controlled Thermal Resources, General Manager collaborated to provide input to the California Energy Commission on approaches to improve the permitting process for lithium extraction from geothermal brine at the Salton Sea.

Canada: DEEP Plans to Begin Construction of Geothermal Power Plant in Late Spring of Next Year - When the doublet is up and running, they can begin their flow tests and determine the viability of the project, as well as determine what changed need to be made.

Turkey: Start of Commercial Operations of 30 MW Maspo Ala-2 Geothermal Power Plant - The Acceptance Committee of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey visited the site on 26-27 September and conducted inspections on Ala-2. On September 27, 2019, the Ministry accepted the facility.
