Cities occupy only 2% of the land mass and yet they consume over 67% of electricity and account for more than 70% of the carbon emissions. As cities become “smart” they are significantly reducing their carbon footprint by employing clean energy, and leveraging technologies for energy and operational efficiency, transportation, waste management and communication.
This year, the Energy Africa Conference in collaboration with the African diaspora, under the theme, “Smart Cities and Energy Solutions” will present the African Smart Cities and the inherent business opportunities. The Conference will focus on current and upcoming smart cities to highlight energy solutions and the inherent business opportunities.
