The regular host city for the GRC Annual Meeting & Expo could build a swimming pool complex heated by the same geothermal resource as the Peppermill Resort Spa Hotel.
The City of Reno says the Reno City Council has approved a $9 million pledge with the William N. Pennington Foundation toward the construction of a pool at Moana Springs Park.
They said the new 35-meter aquatic center is estimated to cost around $18 million. They said the City will continue to fundraise to reach this goal together with the Sierra Nevada Community Aquatics.
They said the aquatic center is expected to have an outdoor water play area, geothermal soaking pools and a meeting room as part of its design.
