Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Purpose: The Director of Real Estate will be responsible for acquisition, disposal, and maintenance of Cyrq Energy properties as well as maintenance and interpretation of all real estate related agreements. The individual will plan, direct, and supply land knowledge and leadership to meet corporate goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure land database files, records and maps are accurate and properly maintained.
- Coordinate with operating locations to assist in managing rental, royalty and property tax payments.
- Ensure land payments are timely and accurately paid.
- Review, edit, and prepare appropriate documents required in exploration, development and operations including Leases, Options, Joint Venture Agreements, Easements, Conveyances, and Title Curative documents.
- Investigate and prepare title reports on surface and mineral ownership. Cure title deficiencies and drilling title opinions.
- Direct the analysis and interpretation of land documents (leases, deeds, agreements) for acquisitions and disposals.
- Assist with due diligence for acquisitions, disposals and renewals of permits.
- Assist with evaluating tax assessments, prepare mineral assessment reports and pay property taxes.
- Prepare acreage and lease summaries for management.
- Respond to questions on land matters with corporate lenders, legal counsel, landowners and others.
- Monitor competitor activities in Region and report on land acquisition activity.
- Manage compliance with statutory requirements.
- Interact and problem solve with landowners, partners, third parties, and regulatory agencies for company interests.
The Director of Real Estate will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree plus five to ten years’ real estate related work experience is necessary. A proven ability to coordinate land related activities is needed. Experience in title and documentation is expected. A background in state and federal lands is preferred. Experience maintaining relationships with rural land owners.
A knowledge of basic real estate issues related to natural resources is necessary, as is the ability to comprehend and work with maps and legal descriptions. Competency with leases, title, and surface use agreements is expected. Familiarity with permitting requirements. Strong computer and analytical skills including MS Word and Excel is required. Experience in minerals, oil and gas, or geothermal industries is preferred.
