The Western region and Kisumu will receive 200 megawatt in geothermal power March next year, with the completion of transmission lines.
Kenya Electricity Transmission Company managing director Fernandes Barasa has said the 300- kilometre high voltage line project from Olkaria is 95 per cent complete at Sh18 billion cost.
The connection is expected to save the country from power imports in Uganda to light up the region.
