Como una manera de optimizar el trámite relacionado con el desarrollo de proyectos geotérmicos, la ministra de Energía, Susana Jiménez, anunció que durante este año elaborarán una estrategia nacional que identifique las principales materias y acciones que deben ser abordadas para permitir un desarrollo efectivo y limpio de los consumos térmicos en las industrias y en los hogares.

Para ello, adelantó, se encuentran próximos a enviar un proyecto de ley que mejore y facilite la generación de iniciativas basadas en geotermia: “ingresaremos al Congreso en los próximos días un proyecto de ley que perfeccionará el sistema de concesiones geotérmicas, facilitando el desarrollo de proyectos de usos directos del calor de la tierra, lo cual tendrá visibles beneficios para colegios, hospitales, edificios públicos, y rubros industriales tales como el turismo, agroindustria y minería”.
