There are ~60,000 Oil and Gas wells that have the potential to co-produce heat and/or power through the utilization of already existing wells and exploration data.
The Alberta Well Filtering Dashboard was released this morning and is now available on the CanGEA website. The dashboard works like the maps app to assist in locating areas of geothermal potential much like finding the closest coffee on your Monday morning commute to work.
The search can be narrowed down into temperature/use (Power/Industrial Heat/District Heat) and distance to existing municipalities and infrastructure.
