Turkish firm Hitay Holdings has reiterated its commitment to invest US$1 billion in the development of a 220 MW geothermal power plant in Bener Meriah regency, Aceh. The company plans to drill six wells in two years to harness geothermal energy.
The company is now awaiting the result of its bid from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, according to a press statement sent to The Jakarta Post by the Aceh governor's office.
Singapore-based firm KS Orka also participated in the bidding.
