NV Energy is seeking up to 330 megawatts of additional long-term renewable energy to advance its commitment to clean energy for Nevada.
This 2018 Renewable Energy Request for Proposals also provides bidders the opportunity to propose supplemental battery energy storage systems that deliver at least 25 megawatts in short-term capacity. Details can be found in the 2018 Renewable Energy RFP Protocol Document, but key highlights are:
- Deadline for bids is February 2, 2018;
- Projects can range in size from 35 megawatts up to 330 megawatts;
- Supplemental battery energy storage systems of at least 25 megawatts can be proposed in addition to renewable energy projects;
- Projects must be capable of delivering energy to serve load in NV Energy’s retail service territory;
- The projects must be approved by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada; and
- Project proposals must allow for one of the following commercial operation dates:
- On or before December 31, 2020 for at least 35 megawatts, but optional pricing is requested for a May 1, 2020 commercial operation date; or
- On or before December 31, 2021 for up to an additional 295 megawatts, but optional pricing is requested for a May 1, 2021 commercial operation date.
