USA, Washington: Geothermal Energy Featured at Rock Mechanics/Geomechanics Symposium

52nd US Rock Mechanics/Geomechanics Symposium (ARMA)

24-27 June 2018, Seattle, Washington, USA

The U.S. Department of Energy will participate in the 52nd U.S. Rock Mechanics/Geomechanics Symposium June 24-26, 2018, in Seattle, Washington. The conference, organized by the American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA), will focus on exciting advances in geothermal exploration and production. The Geothermal Technologies Office's Enhanced Geothermal Systems Program Lead, Lauren Boyd, and Research Fellow, Dr. Zachary Frone, will chair a professional track at the symposium.

Additionally, ARMA organizers are currently accepting abstract submissions on the following:
  • Geomechanics in: geothermal, petroleum engineering, civil engineering, and mining engineering;
  • Geology and geophysics;
  • Fracture mechanics;
  • Induced/triggered seismicity;
  • Numerical/analytical/constitutive modeling.
To submit an abstract go to: http://armasymposium.org/

Key dates:
  • December 1, 2017–Abstract submittal
  • January 20, 2018–Notification to authors
