Italy: New Wing Opens at Geothermal Museum in Larderello

The Geothermal Museum in Larderello is Growing (Enel Green Power)


The Geothermal Museum in Larderello (Tuscany, Italy) is growing. This exhibition space, dedicated to energy from the earth, already attracts thousands of visitors from around the world every year. It’s now been enhanced with new materials, documents and halls in order to increase its cultural offering and to display the great history of geothermal energy, which was born right here in Larderello.

It’s located on the first floor of the historic palace that belonged to Conte Francesco De Larderel – the father of geothermal energy, who first used vapours from the earth for electrical generation in the 1800s – and joins the spaces already open to the public on the ground floor.
