The drilling technology and geothermics specialist Daldrup & Söhne AG has been commissioned to drill the third of five possible geothermal doublets for Belgian company Vito N.V., Mol. Work is projected to start in October 2017 and should be concluded within four months.
The client is planning to connect to an aquifer that has a temperature of around 120 Celsius and is located at a depth of up to 5.000 meters, with the geothermal energy to be used to produce heat and energy.
Daldrup had successfully sunk the first two geothermal drillings for Vito in 2015/2016. They were the first deep geothermal doublets ever drilled in Belgium. The thermal water has a temperature of 120 Celsius, which enables Vito to carry out its plan to use the thus generated thermal energy to heat a large office complex as well as other projects.
