Por otro lado, diversas instituciones estiman que al año 2030 podríamos tener entre 1750 MW de potencia instalada, en un escenario conservador, y más de 5000 MW, en un escenario optimista. Como ACHEGEO, pensamos que una meta de unos 2000 MW instalados al año 2030 sería un buen aporte a nuestro país. En consecuencia, está en manos del Estado generar políticas públicas que permitan utilizar el calor de la tierra para mejorar la calidad de vida de los chilenos, iluminar colegios, calefaccionar casas, entre otros innumerables usos.
