Hydrogeologist

The Hydrogeologist position is the technical lead for hydrogeologic, geothermal energy, and groundwater research at the Idaho Geological Survey (IGS).
The Hydrogeologist is versed in groundwater modeling, the design and monitoring of groundwater networks, the collection and interpretation of hydrogeologic/groundwater data, the characterization of aquifers, and geothermal resource development.
The Hydrogeologist solicits funds from external research grants, develops and administers budgets, supervises staff involved in hydrogeology-related projects, and publishes and presents research results.
Necessary field skills include, but are not limited to, measuring water levels in wells, collecting groundwater samples, conducting aquifer tests, and supervising well installations and drilling operations.
As an IGS representative, the Hydrogeologist develops close working relationships with state and federal agencies, industry, and other non-governmental stakeholders involved with Idaho water and geothermal resources.
