Dozens of south Reno residents are in jeopardy of losing a renewable heat source for their homes.
"We love our geothermal energy. We love the heat. It just works," said Geoff White as he and dozens of his neighbors filled a meeting room at the South Valleys Library on Wednesday night to ask why their geothermal plant is being shut down.
Nevada Geothermal is in talks with several companies interested in buying the geothermal plant.
A representative for one of those companies, Cyrq Energy, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, was at Wednesday's meeting. Monte Morrison said, "We are, as you said, very interested in looking at the opportunity."
