Chile: Potential for Up to 3,500 MW of Geothermal Energy

Geotermia: Una Oportunidad Para Chile - Geothermal - An Opportunity for Chile (ACERA)

El potencial geotérmico en Chile es de 2,440 a 3,500 MW, pero actualmente tiene 0 MW en operación. Cerro Pabellón se llama el proyecto geotérmico más avanzando en el país, el cual comenzaría su operación en marzo de 2017. El Ministerio de Energía creó una mesa de trabajo para conversar sobre el potencial y las oportunidades de la Geotermia en el país.

The geothermal potential in Chile is 2,440 to 3,500 MW, but currently has 0 MW in operation. Cerro Pabellón is the most advanced geothermal project in the country, slated to begin its operation in March 2017. The Ministry of Energy hosted a workshop to discuss the potential and opportunities of Geothermal in the country.
