Provinces and states near Alberta are already taking a lead, a Lethbridge audience learned Thursday. But with so many abandoned gas and oil wells across the province, it’s time our province turned some of those environmental liabilities into emission-free assets.
Nations around the Pacific Rim – and as far north as Iceland – have been tapping into geothermal energy for generations, explained geologist Katie Huang. Speaking for Canada’s fledgling geothermal industry, she said this nation has been slow off the mark.
