The Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI) have this year partnered with the Irish Research Council (IRC) and Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) for a new research funding call. The 2016 IRC Society and Policy Call will include 3 geoscience specific projects;
- Strand 4.1 Public Perception of geoscience in Ireland (co-funded by IRC and GSI)
- Strand 4.2: Public and health policy in relation to groundwater resources (co-funded by IRC and GSI)
- Strand 4.3 Economic and public policy for the development of geothermal energy in Ireland (co-funded by IRC, GSI and SEAI)
Each project is a max of 24 months and €100,000. We strongly encourage social science researchers to apply for this call, preferably in partnership with geoscience researchers.
Expressions of interest must be submitted to IRC by September 30th. Application deadline is October 28th. Projects are expected to start in December 2016.
