The incredible growth of Turkey’s geothermal sector will be featured at IGC Türkiye, the congress in the heart of the geothermal industry in Turkey, with partners Ormat and Exergy and an exciting European Bank for Reconstruction and development (EBRD) workshop preceding the event.
Turkey has seen an incredible growth of geothermal power generation capacity from 30 MW in 2008 to currently 648 MW. Marching so fast into the Top 10 geothermal countries in the world, Turkey will soon join the 1 GW Geothermal Country Club.
It is therefore not surprising that the country has attracted a lot of interest by the global geothermal energy community, not only as a market for products and services, but also as an example on how to stimulate geothermal project development.
The Menderes Graben, the geothermal hot spot of Turkey, will be the key focus of IGC Türkiye 2016, a new geothermal congress, that will be taking place 6-8 June 2016 in Izmir, close to most of the geothermal power plants of Turkey.
