Govt to set up renewable-only power firm (Jakarta Post)
The Indonesian government plans to establish an electricity company that would use only renewable power sources, in an effort to boost the development of renewable energy, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said said in Jakarta on Thursday.
The minister said the accelerated development of renewable energy would contribute to the country’s energy security in the long run.
According to the minister, the government is preparing policies, funding, technology and human resources capacity building to accelerate renewable energy development.
