GE moves renewable energy headquarters from Schenectady to Paris (Times Union)
General Electric Co. (GE) has officially moved its renewable energy business from Schenectady, New York, United States, to Paris following its $10 billion acquisition of the energy business of French conglomerate Alstom SA.
GE's renewable energy business was located in Schenectady and operated under Anne McEntee until the Alstom deal closed on Nov. 2. Jérome Pécresse is the new GE Renewable Energy CEO.
GE employs roughly 4,000 people at its Schenectady campus, home to GE Power, including a large GE steam turbine and generator plant.
