The Mammoth Community Water District (MCWD), along with local community groups and local, regional, and federal elected officials, have expressed concerns about Ormat's Casa Diablo IV’s potential impacts to local water supplies and environmental resources.
Ormat has put together a short animation to help dispel fears about the project.
From the transcript: The Mammoth Community Water District's water expert publicly says existing publicly available studies and data do not indicate significant interaction between the upper cold water aquifer and the much deeper geothermal reservoir but now the water district is claiming that there will be adverse effects threatening the town's water supply.
