Chile: Enel Green Power Commits to Geothermal Education

Geothermal: EGP Displays in Chile the ‘Made in Italy’ Technological Excellence (Enel Green Power)

Enel Green Power inaugurated  an exhibit “Geothermal, Italian Energy from the Heart of the Planet” at Santiago’s Museo Interactivo Mirador (MIM) on September 7th. The exhibit is one of the initiatives organised in celebration of The Year of Italy in Latin America, which is being promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and aims to highlight the different features of Italy’s presence in Latin America.

The exhibit will allow students, teachers and families to learn more about geothermal energy, as well as the science behind this clean energy source, in a playful and fun way.

The Enel Green Power exhibit is based on three pillars: “to see, know and learn”, and aims to both raise awareness of geothermal energy and bring people into contact with the renewable and clean energy source from an early age. In Chile geothermal energy, which comes from the Earth’ heat, is not widely known, despite the resource’s great potential in the country.

The exhibit will also be presented in Mexico, Peru and Colombia and will be supplemented with other activities, such as seminars, workshops and internships in Italy for students. Additionally, Enel Green Power has committed to collaborate in the implementation of a geothermal energy section that will be a permanent part of the MIM Energy Room.
