Geothermal: Innovation and Employment in Tuscany (Enel Green Power)

New technologies, agreements for the development of local employment and supply chain companies, the development of new markets. Enel Green Power’s geothermal power continues its full-round game at the ‘home stadium’ of Italy, homeland of the energy generated from the Earth with Tuscany’s geothermal district, and new challenges in Latin America, Africa and also in Asia and the Pacific.

The effects of geothermal on employment are well exemplified in Tuscany thanks to the spread of generation plants, which have risen to 35 after Cornia 2 has been put into service, and the development of a local industrial supply chain. In this regard, a few days ago a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Larderello between the municipalities of the traditional geothermal area and EGP for the promotion of initiatives aimed at enhancing the socio-economic and employment effects, as well as the qualification of local enterprises.
