The 1,000 MW Corbetti geothermal plant will be built in two stages within 8 to 10 years. Upon completion, it will be Africa’s largest geothermal facility.
The Corbetti Geothermal Power Project -- located 200 kilometers (124 miles) south of the capital Addis Ababa -- will be built in two phases, with the first 500 MW phase to be completed in 2018. The second phase is expected to be finished in 2021.
