Kenya to Increase Budget for Geothermal Energy Development by 30% (Kenya Broadcasting Corporation)

Kenya National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Henry Rotich is to present this year’s National Budget today. This year’s 2.16 trillion shillings budget is the largest in Kenya’s history and in all East Africa.

On energy, cash for geothermal development has been increased from the previous 10 billion shillings to 13.2 billion shillings.

To enhance electricity connection, the government has allocated 14.9 billion shillings for rural electrification program, up from the 10 billion shillings allocated to REA last year.
