Iceland's EFLA to Review Suswa Geothermal Prospect (SeeNews Renewables)

The Icelandic International Development Agency (ICEIDA) has awarded Iceland-based EFLA Consulting Engineers a USD-300,778.5 (EUR 267,900) contract for the review of the conceptual model of the Suswa geothermal prospect in Kenya.

Following an international competitive bidding process, the parties sealed the deal on June 11, according to a press release on Friday. Located in the southern parts of the Kenyan Rift Valley, Suswa’s potential is estimated at roughly 600 MW.

ICEIDA and the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) are co-funding a project whose aim is to encourage and support geothermal exploration and capacity building in East Africa.
