The Philippines’ current energy supply can’t keep up with the demands of a fast growing economy. The country, which rests atop the Pacific Ocean’s ring of fire, has converted volcanic heat into geothermal electricity. Now, a new drilling project is underway on Mindoro island to tap into this natural resource.
