11-13 March, Winterhaven, California
The 8th Annual Imperial Valley Renewable Energy Summit will be held March 11-13, 2015, and will focus on the ever changing - and expanding - opportunities for development in the region where the full spectrum of renewable energy production continues to thrive.
The theme for the Summit that will be held at the Quechan Resort in Winterhaven, California is “Imperial Valley: Powering New Frontiers.”
There is no question that the Imperial Valley is the land of opportunity for renewable energy development. Geothermal, solar and wind power plants in the region already export well over 1,000 megawatts of renewable energy to surrounding communities. With the completion of renewable energy projects under construction, the Imperial Valley will be producing about 2,500 megawatts of renewable energy, making the region a key player in California’s ability to meet the renewable portfolio standards. Studies indicate the region has the potential to produce more than 25,000 megawatts of renewable energy.
