Green Core Geothermal Signs Power Sales Agreement (Visayan Daily Star)
The Negros Oriental 2 Electric Cooperative and Green Core Geothermal Inc. (GCGI), a subsidiary of Energy Development Corporation (EDC), will sign an amended Power Sales Agreement at the Noreco 2 office in Dumaguete City tomorrow, to ensure stable supply in the franchise areas of the electric cooperative.
Earlier, an official said that Noreco 2 was negotiating with the GCGI for additional power that he projected will be finalized next year. He also lauded the Energy Development Corporation, a sister company of GCGI, for its new 49.8 MW Nasulo geothermal plant in Valencia, Negros Oriental, that was inaugurated and became operational in September.
The new plant will ensure ample supply of electricity in the province, and will provide additional power in the Visayas grid, Macahig said.
GCGI operates the 112.5-MW Tongonan geothermal plant in Leyte and the 192.5-MW Palinpinon geothermal plants in Negros Oriental.
