A business and government delegation from Iceland will visit Nicaragua to explore cooperation and investment possibilities in the geothermal energy sector.
Iceland Investment Promotion Agency announced a visit to Nicaragua next week of a delegation headed by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ragnheidur Elin Arnadottir.
In 2008 Iceland funded a $4 million dollar “Capacity Building in Geothermal” Project to promote research in the Nicaragua geothermal sector. Ten potential geothermal energy sites with a generating capacity of 2,000 MW have been identified.
