Global Experts Focus on Geothermal Power in East Africa (The Citizen)

ARGeo members resolve to build geothermal training centre at Nakuru, Kenya


African Rift Geothermal (ARGeo) member countries have resolved to devise a policy each to guide the establishment and development of the source of renewable energy. They have also resolved to put up a geothermal training centre at Nakuru, Kenya, which will get financial support from the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

African countries sharing the Rift Valley also launched a database for geothermal records towards the end of their 5th conference which ended here on Friday. The three-day African Rift Geothermal Conference (ARGeoC5) attracted about 500 energy experts, policy-makers, and financiers from across the world at the Arusha International Conference Centre.
